It’s silly. It’s charming. It’s a whole book full of ridiculous or inspiring limericks known to entertain both drunk adults and children alike.
I wrote these poems and short limericks over the years in lots of random situations to entertain others but quite often my son when he was younger, although some of them are actually from a scary plane ride out of DC just a month after 9-11-2001. The seats at the front of the plane were atypical in that it had a group of us sitting in a U, staring at each other. It was all too clear that everyone was nervous AF. I told them all to give me topics and I’d scratch out a four line poem in less than a minute. Pretty soon they were all distracted trying to stump me and laughing at the results. Mission accomplished.
Instead of waiting around forever to find a publisher, I decided to illustrated it myself (don’t judge) and publish it myself. This small personal project turned out to be quite symbolic and led the way to becoming known for getting things done and managing projects.
Younger children enjoy coloring and hearing the rhymes. Middle schoolers love the gross humor of some of the titles and high schoolers – well high schoolers and college kids are too busy partying but probably love it, too.
It’s truly fun for the whole family, including your drunk Uncle Al! It makes a great bathroom reader! It’s…It’s currently out of print!
